According to the host Salman Khan, “Traffic is at its peak in the evenings because of which people usually reach home lately. So 10.30 pm is the better timing to air the show. People don’t go to sleep before 12 in the night and this is a good show to watch before one goes to sleep.”

On the chosen time slot, Ashvini Yardi, Head of Content, Colors elaborated, “With a strong fiction show line-up during the whole week, we believe Bigg Boss 5 fits well in the 10.30 time slot. On weekends, the reality show will telecast at 10 pm, including the eviction episode (with Aakhri Farmaan) and some unseen bits from the show.”
